Astronomy Lab Grades

4/21/12 - These are all the lab grades I have recorded.  This includes the outside report labs I receiced.  If you think you have anything turned in that is not listed, please see me ASAP.  Let me know if you have any questions.

The ID listed here is the last 4 digits of your Fort Lewis ID.  If you want something different, email me with another number and I will use that.

You need a total of 60 points of "inside" labs and 60 points of "outside" labs for a "perfect" lab score.  Formid-term, to have a "perfect" score at the end of the term, you should have at least 40 points.  Note that when those points show up in the lecture grades, they are divided by 4 (15 points each) to show up as a percentage of your overall (lecture + lab) grade.  To be passing the lab, you need a total of 72 points combined from the inside and outside components.  If you have fewer than 72 points your overall class average will be 50% from your lab score.  

The chart shows the sum of all (inside and outside) scores.

ID - last four digits of your FLC ID
sum - current sum of all lab grades
inlab - current sum of all "inside" labs. (60 points for full credit)
outlab - current sum of all "outside" labs. (60 points for full credit)
NSun - noontime sun lab

Bino - naked eye/binocular lab
Tuse - (indoor) telescope use lab

Heat - solar heating
Para - parallax
Tele - outdoor telescope lab
16in - view through a big scope
ID - star and constellation identification lab
Spots - sunspots
Dark - dark sky star count
Meteor - meteor counting during a shower
Sset - tracking the sunset
