Class Description
There is widespread interest in utilizing plants and plant based products to enhance our health and treat a wide range of medical disorders. This course will introduce you to the topic of medicinal crops and their relationship with society. We will examine and discuss selected medicinal crops with regard to their history, botany, production, documented physiological effects, and cultivation. In addition, we will compare and contrast the technology of synthetic pharmaceuticals with the technology of medicinal crops. This course is both an SC2 course in the Colorado gT pathways program and a Thematic Studies I technology course in the FLC general education program.
