In Class Exercise Discussion One - Introduction

1.  If the environment in which one lives can influence the progress of ideas -- what environmental influences can you think of that might:

a) help the progress of ideas and

b) hinder the progress of ideas. 

2.  Pick two of the ideas we discussed regarding why students should study the history of economic thought and argue either for or against them.  You might argue for one and against the other!
