ECON 369 - Public Sector Economics

 

NEWS FLASH

Posted Tuesday, April 22:

OFFICE HOURS DURING FINALS WEEK:  Monday, April 28:  12:00 - 3:30, Tuesday, April 29:  2:00-3:00 and by appointment (not just on Tuesday - all week).

 

Here is the list of behavior issues that will result in the curve increasing (includes all three days we have left of class):

1.  coming in late to class

2.  leaving and returning during class

3.  sleeping/moping/pouting in class (this also means you will be counted absent)

4.  taking longer than 10 minutes for the break

5.  looking at your cell phone

6.  disturbing class with excessive chit chat

7.  not giving an earnest effort to answer the questions on an ICE

8.  throwing something away during class

9.  leaving class early

10.  insulting the professor

 

I want to remind everyone that you MUST take the final exam on the day and during the time that it is scheduled!!  Final Exam is Tuesday, April 29 (12:00-2:00).  DO NOT ASK ME FOR AN EXCEPTION.  Therefore, make sure you have cleared your schedule!!

 

Here are my meetings for the week of April 21:

    Quality Initiative:  Monday, 2:00-3:00

    Advising Staff Meeting:  Tuesday, 9:00-10:00

    Student Success Training:  Tuesday, 10:00-1:00   

    Faculty Senate:  Wednesday, 2:30-3:30

I am a member of the Faculty Senate.  The Senate meets every so often throughout the semester on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:30.  Therefore - my office hours will be cut short on these days.

Here is an interesting link to ideas on how to cut spending at the Federal Budget Level.  It is by the CATO Institute, which is a free market, libertarian organization -- so the downsizing reflects that ideology.  You might get some ideas for your project.  http://www.downsizinggovernment.org/
