Brook Santangelo
Teaching assistant
Brook is currently a Computational Bioscience PhD Student at University of Colorado School of Medicine. She is interested in incorporating knowledge of microbial interactions with biological systems into knowledge bases to better understand mechanisms of the gut microbiome in disease.
She earned a BS in Biophysics from University of San Diego. She previously worked at Illumina as a Software Systems Engineer, contributing to the development of genetic sequencing instruments and genomic analysis workflows before starting her PhD.
For this workshop, she is a teaching assistant. She enjoys all activities involving the outdoors, including trail running, skiing, climbing, and riding horses.
