Dr. Kraus teaches Social Psychology, Multicultural Psychology, Compassion and Stereotyping, Ethnic Families in America, Research Methodology, Senior Seminar and Statistics.  

 

 

 

 

Educational Background:
Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Colorado, 1993

MA in Social Psychology from the University of Colorado, 1991

BS in Psychology from Penn State University, 1988

Research:

Dr. Kraus is actively involved in research on teaching pedagogy for higher education, the effects of meditation on compassion and the effect of culture on perceptions of health and body image. Some of her work can be found under the mediation research links on the right side of this page. She also enjoys working with students on developing projects based around their own interests.

Consulting:
Dr. Kraus serves as a research and statistical consultant  based on her expertise in statistical analyses and research methods.  She works closely with researchers at Rochester Medical School on cutting edge medical research. 

She also is helping the Jinsei Foundation do a program evaluation for their aikido program in the Durango school system.
